Thot I'd drop in and say 'h'! by
Martha Beth Lewis
I've been out of the needlework teaching and writing loop for a couple of years and out of the RCTN loop for several more than that. This does not mean I haven't been stitching, generating more UFOs, or participating in SEX, however! (Just last night, a friend upped my quotient of UFOs and SEX...

Olympus floss - conversion chart by
Kathy Nichols
Does anyone know of a readily available conversion chart of Olympus
floss to DMC? I recently bought a Japanese book of cross stitch
patterns and would like to start using it but don't want to spend
hours trying to match Olympus to DMC.
Thanks.

If you had an LNS... by
[email protected]
I was asked the other day what I would like to see in the stitching
section of a local, independent craft shop. I know what I'd like to
see, and I wondered what others would find most important. So, if you
could design a stitchery shop or department, what would you insist it
offer, in the way of...

Destashing by
Rachel Gasperson
My washer has breathed it's last, so I have to destash.
Lots of knitting books and needles, but a bit of crochet and cross stitch,
along with some general crafting books. Also have 4 of those divided boxes
for DMC, full of DMC on the little plastic/board bobbins. 10 cents per
bobbin (most...

Eyes by
Danny Breidenbach
At the ripe young age of 46, my eyesight is getting problematic. Hard to see the small stuff. If I take off my glasses, I can hold my work real close and see the holes BETTER than with my glasses; however, holding anything that close makes my eyes start to cross. My astigmatism just makes it...

I'm now at liberty to dish! by
Bonnie
I've never met Ginger personally but have shopped there when in Austin.
When I lived in Pampa we did not have an LNS. We have a fairly good LNS
here in San Angelo so I really don't have to rely on her now.
Sorry for your problems with her!

Examplarery Samplers Online? ... by
Linda W.
Hello ...
I was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me if there are Web
sites that show the collection of samplers from The Examplarery
(Joanne Harvey's company).
I haven't had one of her catalogues for quite some time, and I am
wondering about new designs and also what her prices are like...

DMC Designer Program by
Deb in Idaho
After 9 years in the DMC Designer Program, I am suddenly told I am not in their system when I recently requested floss for some upcoming designs. The contact emails I've used in the past are either being returned as "XXX is not longer with the company" or just bad emails. When I finally got valid...

So - what are you stitching by
Cheryl Isaak
I've been stitching away at a baby dragon alphabet. I've also spent a little
time on Bouquet for Cheryl in the DMC variation dark green. I've also got a
purse project that hasn't been touched since lacrosse practices ended. But
since DD is going to a lacrosse clinic, I guess I'll have the...

A Test: Political & Social Compass by
Dianne Lewandowski
A few months back, someone posted a site with a test to see where you
were at on the political scale: right or left.
The following site does this a little better, has some interesting
statements to make about social and economic "visions", past and current
global leaders and where they are in the...

Interesting observation on embroidery techniques. by
F.James Cripwell
Next Friday and Saturday, there is a needlework show called
Inspirations, being held in the Nepean Sportsplex here in Ottawa,
Canada. Virtually all the exhibitors are selling things. The Ottawa
Valley Guild of Stitchery is the exception. We are carrying out our
mandate of encouraging embroidery....

META: Number of posts on RCTN. by
F.James Cripwell
It is that time of year when I can find out how many posts we had on
RCTN during 2003. I know from past experience that some of you dont think
this is at all interesting, but others do. So here goes, together with
similar figures for previous years.
2003 47,500
2002 54,000
2001 69,600

Please can anyone help me? I have a Jane Rainbow "Allium" kit which my mother started many years ago. Sadly when her house was cleared after she died, the paternayan threads appear to have be lost. The instructions which are with the started design do not list the shades which are used. There are 6...
