Not OT Thank you by bobbieviorritto
I received a package from Hoffman Distributing with a copy of the Just Cross Stitch Ornament issue and a Phyllis Hoffman Celebrate Christmas issue. There was no invoice enclosed and I didn't order them. So thank you to whom ever sent these. I am enjoying them. Bobbie Viorritto in NH

pattern for grasses by cinnpie
Hi, Total newbie to this forum and am looking for a Gerda Bengtsson (genius) style pattern for grasses. Preferably cross stitch but will try anything once. Am looking for something naturalistic and simple, nothing cartoonie, cute, precious or shmaltzy or with added hardware. I'm counting on...

Triple Happy Dance! by [email protected]
Finished the cat Santa for my sister early last week, did a quick Christmas stitch from Cedarberry Stitches (Up and Away) and last night, I finished Edwina Gorey - which makes finish #3 in the last week! AND I even picked up my Laura Perin Mardi Gras and did a bit on it. Of course, stitching so...

stitching selection question by Susan Hartman
Okay, folks, here's a question: When a chart grabs you and your fingers itch to do it, how much of your desire/impulse is driven by the finished product? For instance, when you see a chart you like, do you say, "But that won't match my decor" and therefore NOT do it? How often to you select...

Hissy fit by Fred
"F.James Cripwell" wrote in message ... I have seen the expression "Hissy fit" used on several occasions on rctn. Now, Australian Senator Steve Fielding has described a recent outburst by Prime Minister Kevin Rudd as having one. So...

Stash lack by MargW
So I went rooting thorough my stash yesterday. (I'm going to be stitching a couple of little "I Love You/Je t'aime" pillows that are being sent to the Canadian troops by the EAC.) You need to do them exactly as the pattern is written - on 14 count white Aida Now you have to realize that I...

Mom Caves by Donna
Today's Washington Post has a piece about redesigning a home office for Mom. Yes, of course it included the color pink. Sigh. But it got me thinking that my long planned for craft room needs to be renamed the Mom Cave. Or can someone think of something better to describe a room that will be...

Ok - designers you admire by Cheryl Isaak
Currently high on my list: Ink Circles: Alessandra Adelaide Needleworks Some stuff from Country Garden Stitchery, but by no means all of it. Who Knew? Has several pieces I covet. If I ever manage to find steady part time work, I'm kitting up several of them. And I don't generally do "fantasy" I...

what to do with a sweater's worth of wool? by Kalmia
I have an old sweater I'll never wear again as it's a bit tight and has a defect where a dog got a tooth caught in it. I want to unravel it and reuse the wool. Do you think there would be enough in it for a crocheted scarf? It was a 'boughten' sweater, pullover with long sleeves.

Ignoring that other post by Cheryl Isaak
I am quite amused by the number of "needlework" apps I found in the iTunes store. Most are knitting related. Stitch counters, needle size converters and project diaries. A bunch of quilting apps - though I wondered if the fabric stash ones would work for other stash. And jewelry one that...

Here's An Idea by Donna
As I was typing on reply on an OT post, I thought maybe I should make an on-topic post for every off-topic post. Then right now, I would need to go write 3 needlework topic posts. That would certainly increase posting. In reality I think this would be too onerous. How about a modified version of...
