Merri
Hi again all---
I have read just about every post since the beg. of the year and I can't
find the one I posted a couple of weeks ago about the 'oddball' sweater that
I am working on. Some of you replied, and I didn't get a chance to read
them all; there was a website that someone posted a link to;...

NYCO Gansey by
No Name
New Years day I cast on for a traditional Cornish Seaman's gansey using
"Fisherman's Wool" (930 yd/lb.) at a gauge of 8+ spi. I have made a point of
only working on it a few hours per day as I help my wife watch movies in the
evening. (Bad movies result in the most progress. Good movies result...

Home for a bit by
Katherine
This is reading week, so I am in Labrador, enjoying real winter at
alst. Cold, but crisp and clean. I can drink water again without
having to buy it in bottles. Not much knitting time, but at least I am
in my own bed for a few days. I will check in regularly, as I do have
a bit more unassigned time...

Lent by
llindallovesllamas
It has been interesting to read your thoughts on lent. I grew up
Catholic, so I know first-hand
about giving things up! But then someone shared the real reason for
Easter with me: the
fact that Jesus died to pay for each of our sins so we could go to
heaven when we die.
I don"t "DO" religion...

Casting on new stitches by
Harlan Messinger
I'm knitting-in-the-round a flip-top mitten (like the Broad Street
mittens at
http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEfall02/PATTbroadstreet.html
but not that pattern). After getting close to the fingers, you knit the
palm stitches onto store them on a string holder, then knit the back
stitches, then cast...

I could go to a store and buy puzzle glue, but is the mixture when you'd
just use Elmer's Glue? Thanks, Carol In WI

Changing size by changing guage by
Madelaine
I have a vintage pattern for a fairly simple sweater from a 1970s Mon
Tricot. The largest size is a 14 and I wear a 16-18, although I will
double check the measurements. I'm wondering if I can enlarge the
sweater slightly just by changing the guage, and knitting the rib as a
test. The sweater is...

How do you repair crochet? by
Laura J
My daughter's longies have developed a huge hole in the crotch. It isn't a
stretch-hole it is like the yarn actually broke (please please please don't
tell me I have moths!). With knit items I would know how to pick up stitches
or graft the hole together but I am clueless when it comes to...

Just checking in! by
YarnWright
I know how *some* tend to worry when we regulars don't post much, so
thought I'd check-in.
I've been really busy, working on a lot of personal issues PLUS working
on some knitting designs that I want to use for the FAIR.
(Side-note: the DeKalb County Fair is known as the "granddaddy fair"
as it's...

Please excuse if this is posted twice. I tried to post it once and don't
know where it went.
I entered my 2006 NYCO project (knitted sweater with a crocheted yoke) in a
knitting category of the
Creative Arts Division of the San Angelo Stock Show & Rodeo and read in the
newspaper that I have...

I need to make a baby hat for a girl at work.....she is having a boy so the
frilly ones won't do. I have some worsted weight yarn and like the gauge
using us size 6 needles in the round. I have looked for free patterns but
most are for fingering weight yarn.
Thanks in advance for any...
