Fabric Gal notes: can anyone figure out what I meant? by
kratersge
I took notes during the Eleanor Burns show so I could do a scrappy
Fabric Gal quilt, but I can't make any sense of these instructions that
I took down...
"Cut strips 2.5 & 3.5 inches.Use 4 sets of 2 colors.
Make a kind of wonky 4patch, then do the half triangle things with the
resulting 4.5 by...

OT tech help p-l-e-a-s-e by
Marjorie
My 'new and improved' computer software has some new versions of stuff on
it - installed by a dear friend. She was exhausted when she got everything
to somewhat working right. Two questions - the computer is signing her
name - Marjorie - instead of mine. I don't particularly object but how...

Wonderful gesture - quilt as a gift by
Ceridwen
I must share this beautiful quilt made for DD, who is 9 yrs old, by a
wonderful person in Oz. I can't begin to tell you how excited my dd was to
open the package and see this beautiful work of art.

Finally Finished! by
Nancy in NS
I finally finished my grandson's crib quilt, and just in
time as his ETA is this Monday, the 21st. As always, there
are many little mistakes and the quilt was another learning
process, but I'm mostly pleased with it.
The camera/flash makes the blue look rather turquoise, when
it's actually more...

first crazy quilt by
julia sidebottom
Just looking at a post a moment ago reminded me that I just recently
made my first successful crazy quilt top.
For whatever the reason I have always been afraid to make one. I did
attempt one a hundred or so years ago before I learned the joy of
patchwork and that was such a disaster I was...

Question about Cotton sateen by
Sartorresartus
Hi folks,
At last AOL seem to allow me to see the group again. So after years in
the doldrums, here comes me again!
Went to Birmingham NEC on Thursday. Yikes, after a while I couldn't
look at any more quilts, they were too intimidating. Great stuff
though, with huge amounts of gadget hunting...

Directory email confirmation by
AliceW
Just to clarify, you get a confirmation page when you hit the submit button
on the Directory entry form. This shows you everything you entered on the
form. You should have printed this for your files. When you press the
submit button, I get a copy of the form information as well. So, if you...

A chance to sew--June BOM done by
Debra
I finally got a chance to sew again. I stitched the June BOM applique
lady bug. I've tried to send a picture of it to Teri for the gallery
but my e-mail isn't working. Probably is some hitch in the program
because of the new computer and Agent software upgrade. I'll have to
get DH to find the...

Directory confirmation by
AliceW
If there are more folks out there like me, my days are so busy, I often
forget what I did the day before. If you enter your information into the
Directory form, a confirmation page appears after you hit the submit button.
This serves two purposes. It reminds you of what you put on the form and...

FOQ Birmingham by
irene
I visited the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham this week. The standard
of quilts entered this year were really good. Those which came in 1st
really did deserve it. There seemed to be more wholecloth quilts
included, Lilian Hedley - North country Durham Quilts - had a section
on her own,...

Woohoo! Celebrating my first customer by
Karen Garza
I had my very first customer for my quilting service today. I quilted the
quilt this morning with a maple leaf pattern and it came out very nice. The
owner picked it up this afternoon and she was pleased with it. I had ice
cream to celebrate :-)

French Braid Quilts by

I've done some Herringbone, Terri, which is not a million miles away
from the picture on the cover of the book - just minus the square
between the angles strips. Effective isn't it. Lovely!

Hunting red and pin bites by
Polly Esther
I think maybe I can do two topics at once. If you are hunting a glorious
pure red for a holiday project, take a look at Moda Marbles Christmas Red.
It doesn't lean toward orange or blue, just a wonderful Christmas red - and
it's been around so long it's on sale at several places. I just used...

French Braid Quilts by
Susan Laity Price
I used the pattern in the "Can of Worms" book. Great way to use-uop
scraps. Sorry no picutre. I used all novelty Christmas prints with a
common cream background and a holly print between the rows of braids.
It was very easy to make although I somehow stretched the border so it
isn't...

Quick trip to Omaha by
Susan Laity Price
We received word yesterday that Dave's uncle died in Omaha. The
funeral will be Saturday. We are leaving this morning and driving
across I-80. Won't really have time to meet anyone from RCTQ.
Since Dave will want a rest this afternoon we will stop at a quilt
shop somewhere around Des Moines. If he...
