leaded windows by aad terlouw
I wish to make leaded windows in a doll-house.I have tried the thick, pasty type of black paint which result in unrealistic thick lines of non-uniform thickness sometimes.Has anyone a better method to apply the 'lead'such that it looks more realistic?

Bubbles in wallpaper ... fixable? by Cathy Weeks
In the process of working with the electrical, I used some pretty bright flashlights to see what I was doing, and discovered that the room with the dark wallpaper has some pretty significant bubbles in the paper. I don't have bubbles in the room with the light-colored paper, so I'm guessing the...

paper clay questions by Metis-Artist
I plan to build a wizard's castle similar to Rik Pierce's Toadmoor Manor. I will be using SONOTUBE cardboard concrete forms as a base. My question is how much clay should I expect to use on a round tower about 16" diameter X 36" - 48" high I want to do both inside and out. Is there an online place...

doll house wood supply by JAV
I have been planing poplar wood down to 1/8" thickness for various projects, and was wondering if this wood would be useful to the dollhouse maker or collector. I have lengths from a few inches on up to 36" boards. The poplar is very nice, lightweight, and the shades and tones vary. I even have...

Book recommendations by Cathy Weeks
Hi all, I'm looking for some book recommendations. 1. What are the best books for building minis? I'm interested in recreating certain pieces of my parents antiques, so I'm interested in more overall how-tos rather than plans and specific projects. Are the "Cabinet Maker" guides good? Is there...

Thrift Shop images by Herb

Thornhill Questions by Cathy Weeks
Hi, I think I'm going to get the Thornhill manor with the insurance settlement (well, the settlement is going to pay for a portion of the Thornhill) on the dollhouse I built that was destroyed in my parent's fire. I have a few questions: 1. It looks like it has a smooth exterior (unlike the other...
