Blue ceramics by Jake Loddington
No: not cobalt. Some while ago, I saw a photograph of a porcelain vase with a blue shadowgram image. I assumed that this was a cyanotype image (the father of the engineers' blueprint), and was therefore unfired. I read up about this antique photographic process, which pre-dated even...

Michael Casson by Jake Loddington
Sad to read the obituary of Michael Casson. I have emailed the BBC to try to persuade them to re-run (perhaps on BBC-4?) the five-part series called 'The Craft of the Potter', devised by Mick Casson and broadcast initially in 1976. Jake Loddington POULTON-LE-FYLDE Lancs. UK

Decorem? by Jake Loddington
Has anyone heard of this product / process for putting images on to ceramics? I came across a mention of it somewhere recently. I can't remember where, and when I Googled it, all I got was a lot of Latin references (and some pointers to Wilfred Owen). Jake Loddington, POULTON-LE-FYLDE, Lancs....

Paragon B88B by james
I just bought a Paragon B88B Kiln. I was hoping to use it to fire Pottery, but based on the limited information I have found on the 'net, it seems to be more suited to "greenware", whatever that is. Can someone tell me what I can expect to use this Kiln for? Thanks James

pottery term by James Norton
I'm trying to think of a word that describes a process used in Wedgwood manufacturing that involves applying a band of low relief decoration around the outside of a vase. The band is prepared in a plaster mold and transferred to the vase. Any help is appreciated.

Trolls - OT but Germane to Advice on Studio Size Flap by Jan Clauson
I have been informed of a message-board nuisance called a troll. As it was explained to me, they are called trolls for two reasons: 1. They troll message boards making nasty comments in order to start an argument, and 2. They are ugly little devils! I am assured that if you don't feed them...
