What is this needlework form called? by
BB
Many years ago I received from my grandmother a metal form that I used
to crochet yarn into long strips. I would wrap the yarn around this
ladder like form, each time crocheting the yarn together, wrap around
again, crochet the yarn together, etc. When done, I would take the
yarn off of the form. I...

A finish - first finish of 09 by
Cheryl Isaak
I finished "Live Simply" ( a Dimensions kit)
http://www.michaels.com/art/online/displayProductPage?productNum=nw0368
Yesterday. All I have to do is wash and press it and I take a quick picture.
I think I have the fabric to do the "no sew cube" and have some daisy trim
to add. I may yet add a...

Darn metallic Thread!!! by
Dana Compton
I am a "drop in" here, but hope somebody here has some insight. I am a
medium skilled cross stitcher. I've made 3 large samplers and quite a
few small things. The project I have just started is making me nuts.
It's a very large Bucilla Table Cloth. It's a Christmas pattern and I
decided to use one...

on my first project...a nice simple scarf. Basically the pattern was
worsted yarn ch 60" and sc until width is achieved. Using an I hook.
Unfortunately it appears to be curling up on me. Is there something I
can do to stop this...

Color Changes in Lavendar & Lace Celtic Designs by
Staggsnc
A friend recently saw a picture in an English magazine advertising Marilyn
Leavitt-Imblum's (or Lavendar & Lace) Celtic Summer and Celtic Autumn in
different colors other than the ones designed by Marilyn. Number 1 - is this
legal? I hope Marilyn knows about it. I wouldn't want it to be an...

Curtis Boehringer follow-up by
Patricia Rogers
I just called Becky at Curtis Boehringer and she is great! She found my
records (I bought the stuff in 2000, can you believe it?) and the booklets I
never got are on their way! She is a delight to talk to, and said that the
company is coming out with some new cross-stitch designs soon. I'm...

Question for Quilters by
Dianne Lewandowski
My daughter wants to learn to quilt. I helped her with some
applique/embroidery on one she did 3 years ago, then the spark died
because of two births. She wants to get creative. I sent her a
brochure I had received in the mail a few weeks ago - a new mag on the
market for quilters. This sparked...

Marital and motherhood status (was Lost Children) by
Felice Friese
After reading several posts, I have to butt in with several questions.
Post 1: The thing I get from employers because of my history of cancer is
"What if there's a relapse?" I'm not even
going to mention it when I apply to become an EMT somewhere. I get asked a
lot when interviewing "How old are...

Does anyone else have a problem with the John James petits breaking
often? A friend has gone through several packages like they are
water. One needle won't last long enough to stitch one 5X7 kit
because the eye breaks off. Meanwhile, my Susan Bates needles last
through several projects. I even...
