Gosh i do not know what to do. I have been doing fine needlework since first studying at the Royal in 1971. I am pretty good at it by this time as that is a lot of years practicing. Last time visiting, my MIL gave me a needlepoint piece that is gawdawful. She went on and on about it being done...

Currently high on my list: Ink Circles: Alessandra Adelaide Needleworks Some stuff from Country Garden Stitchery, but by no means all of it. Who Knew? Has several pieces I covet. If I ever manage to find steady part time work, I'm kitting up several of them. And I don't generally do "fantasy" I...

Now what? by Alex Corvinus
Not to be objectionable, but I need a bit of help here. I have understood that one must have a library. Sensible. Building that, and received my virgin copy of the Readers' Digest Encyclopedia of stitches today. $$$$. Have Maria Undi's book. Others on Hungarian florals. But I need to get some...

Glass or no glass for framed work? by Bergen
I'm almost done stitching a portrait (140x120x90 colors) and was curious what the opinion was on putting it under glass? I remember reading somewhere not to because it flattens out the stitches? The person receiving this has smokers in the house and I would like to protect it from yellowing.

I need a warm shoulder by Lucille
I'm finally feeling better and recovering from bronchial pneumonia so I decided that I would give my car a break and go to the market for a few small items. Well, guess what--I have the deadest battery in this town and it's too late to get a new one today, and I have a prior appointment...

Pattern Mistakes by Julie
I am in the midst of my first blackwork piece. It is a Victorian era double story terrace house. I have already found 2 mistakes on the pattern ( from looking at the completed picture piece on the front cover ). In one case, I found it as I was getting ready to stitch it. In the other, I had to...

Once again, thanks to all of you. I have located a copy of the "Paws and Claws" book on e-bay and hope to win the auction. It looks like exactly what I am looking for... of course it doesn't look EXACTLY like Daddy's little darlin... but it is as close as mere art can get. Thanks! "Susan in...

I'm having no luck in looking for an out of print book through the "conventional" needlework book sites (Hard To Find, Ruth Kernes, etc.) I have specific information on the book (title, author name, date of pub - even ISBN number) but I'm still not able to locate any available copies of the...

What is this needlework form called? by BB
Many years ago I received from my grandmother a metal form that I used to crochet yarn into long strips. I would wrap the yarn around this ladder like form, each time crocheting the yarn together, wrap around again, crochet the yarn together, etc. When done, I would take the yarn off of the form. I...
