Courthouse steps in plaid by
Kathy in CA
Have any of you seen the quilts in the latest sale catalog for Penneys? One
is in the court house steps pattern in plaids (mostly reds and greens). I
decided I HAVE to buy some plaids and make one of those. It is a really
gorgeous quilt.

Antique White SM by
Clooniff
Remember that old White that I found at the curb? Someone suggested she
might have the table. Today I saw her and asked. YES! In fact, they have
two tables. She's going to ask her husband about letting me buy them. One
has been refinished, but she couldn't remember if it was the one the...

Machine quilting question by
duh who
When my girlfriend made my quilt (which was not pieced, just bolt fabric
with a border) she was afraid of doing the actual quilting part by machine
because she was afraid the fabric would tend to bunch up as she got nearer
the border, ending up with a lump at the border.
Could this be solved by...

Photo of Lone Star Appliqued & Progress Report by
MerryStahel
Okay - its a little wrinkled from all the handling - but the photo is posted.
Click on URL below and then click on More Quilts.
The Lone Star is now appliqued onto its backing. When I finished basting it
tightly (as in 1/2 inch stitches as oppsoed to my usual 1 inch stitches) - it
went together...

The Lone Star TOP is done! by
MerryStahel
I basted it on the background fabric, after pinning it with hundreds of pins -
they kept slipping, so I simply sat down and basted it with smaller stitches,
too.
It held perfectly and I was able to zip around the outline and machine applique
it down, no troubles!
I will post a photo as soon as I...

Quilter's Complete Guide by
melinda
....by Marianne Fons & Liz Porter, should I buy this book?
At AU$60 I'm tempted, if it's the "essential reference" and
"invaluble guide" it claims to be.

that, but PAPER????? Trash got picked up yesterday, and already the

New to quilting, how to proceed by
duh who
Hi,
I know Kate Dicey from another list and she pointed me here for advice.
I'm brand new to quilting and need some advice. Not one to be satisfied
doing someone else's block design, I came up with my own design that is
probably kinda difficult for a beginner.
Its a pattern of interlocking...

help! by
MakeDoMom
Our quilting group at church made a quilt for our missionary, using white
muslin blocks. Members then fabric-painted or drew designs, etc. on the
blocks. I'd bought Sharpies because it says they are permanent markers, and
some people drew really beautiful designs with them, but when we tried to...

OT really, pet prescriptions by
Polly Esther
I wouldn't dare ask this question here, would I? Oh yes, I would.
I get lots of offers from spam wanting to get my prescriptions "written
by our doctor for free" at cheap rates. That scares the heck out of me.
But - I have tried to get my QI's heart worm stuff on the internet and
always fail. They...

Monarch machine by
Don/Gen
Has anyone heard of a Monarch machine by Brother? If so, please let me
know. I found one, but it's in rough shape. Looks as if someone took a
hammer to the flywheel and broke the piece that attaches the wheel to the
shaft. We've looked all over the web and can't find any information. I'd
like...
