Photo to color-rich cross-stitch pattern - possible? by
[ B@CHFiRE ]
Hey cross-stitchers,
I'm using the program PC-Stitch to try and make a cross-stitch pattern from
a picture, that I can sew by hand. The program says, that you can max set
the DMC colors to 200. Is that all DMC have? Any other fabric manufactures,
that has more? Maybe it's more than enough, I don't...

new and bemused!? by
ziggylo
This is a hello to all of you that choose to read it! I am not sure
how to start 'joining in' as everything I read it so disjointed (sorry)
and you all seem to be having other conversations? Is this how it
works?
Are there any other new bodies out there that feel so lost but are
willing to...

merezhka embroidery update by
Yvette
Hi everyone,
Today I did the second and final part of the workshop at my local
guild in Merezhka embroidery. We learnt how to do the "bullion wrap"
style corner, and how to turn the corner.
I loved the course and am looking forward to finishing my piece and
putting it in our guild's exhibition...

Myreschka embroidery by
Yvette
I did the first part of a two day course today at my local guild on
Myreschka embroidery. Always wanting to know the traditions behind
these sorts of things, I asked the teacher if it was traditionally
worked in white on white or in colour. She didn't know the answer.
Does anyone here know...

Mountmellick embroidery by
Yvette
Following on from our recent conversation on Mountmellick, I've
finally got my new website up and running.
www.mountmellick.how.to
It has some information about the fabrics, threads and equipment used
to create Mountmellick embroidery.
I hope it is useful to those that are interested. :-)

Peri Lusta thread by
Yvette
Hi,
Has anyone ever heard of this thread? My mum found some in her box of
stranded cottons. She wanted to match it, and of course no-one's ever
heard of it! (I found a close colour match in my DMC threads for her).
But, we're wondering what on earth it is. She thinks that perhaps she
got it from...

redwork - origins? by
Yvette
Hi,
A friend was talking to me about redwork today. She said that she
thought that it originally came from Turkey (hence turkey red). She
mentioned this at her local quilting shop and they thought that was
not right.
Does anyone know where this style of work originated?
Thanks!

Mountmellick supplies by
Yvette
Hello,
Can anyone tell me of the names/addresses/websites of suppliers of
authentic Mountmellick supplies? E.g. cotton satin jean, and matt
white cotton thread.
Anywhere in the world is OK.
TIA!
