'new' fabric by
AK&DStrohl
I was just perusing the www.denverfabrics.com site and I came across a
fabric type that I had never heard of before. Silk Gazar. It looks almost
cloudlike. Can't tell if it is translucent/transparent/opague. Soft hand
or fimer/crisper?
Does anyone know?

why turn clothes inside out for washing by
Alan Horowitz
I first observed people doing this when washing clothes by hand, in
the Philippines. I presumed it was a local folkloric nonsense.
Just recently, I noticed that the fine print of the Care Label of my
jeans, includes a instruction to turn inside out before washing.
What is the reason for it?

efficacy of pants pressers? by
[email protected]
I always press my pants because they're pure cotton. And because they
were properly tailored to measure, so pressing them makes them last
longer, too.
I'm intruiged by the pants-presser appliances I've seen (for example,
at Hammacher Schlemmer).
Do these things really work well?

I think you should take help from google in this. Many custom tailors are available there. You may also check custom patterns on LKTAILOR site. They have displayed there patterns.

Alex
I don't know how to sew, but I'd like to learn. I'm looking for a very
basic sewing machine and for as little money as possible. Does anyone
know of any good machines, good stores in toronto, or an online store
which will ship in canada? Thanks

Hi fellow stitchers,
I know this question has been asked in the past but stores come and
go
so I'd like up-to-date info.

? about pattern drafting/design by
Allison
Hi there, I hope someone can help us. My daughter would like to try
making a dress of her own design. But we aren't too certain how to go
about it. When I was googling for pattern drafting sites the sort of
thing that came up was pretty basic. Does anyone know how to go about
