A stitchy question by
Joan Erickson
Years ago there was a company where you send in a picture and they turn
it into a cs pattern. Does anyone know what the company was and if
they're still in business? Of any other suggestions? My DSis is
looking to do one of her new grandson.
TIA!!!

Request: converting Ehrman wool colours to anything else by
SarahEmmm
I'm afraid I mostly lurk here, but now I am stumped by this problem
and hope somebody can help.
I have bought an Ehrman 12 hpi canvas of a walnut tree, but it comes
without wool. Now I need to identify what wool to get for it, but I
have totally failed to find any conversion chart.
I saw a...

I don't see how hanging knitted baubles from trees will reduce fear of crime. If I saw them, I'd think vandals stole them...

a way to patch a pair of jeans that have split along the back pocket.
They're "stretch denim" and so far two different brands of iron on patch
have peeled off.
I really want to keep them for grunge work outside but don't want the
world to know I have red undies on!

Cross Stitch Needles by
[email protected]
what is everyone's favorite needle?
I was using a "My Favorite Needle" but I misplaced or lost it. Then I
was using Piecemakers but they don't hold the thread very well. The
thread would stick to my dry hands and puttl right out of the needle.
Now I am using another brand of 'short' needle, like...

on topic reading by

Book to recommend - even though I'm still in the middle of it. The Ruins
of Lace is about the lace trade in 17th century France and Flanders
Even the story switches point of view, it flows ago nicely.
It is frightening what people did for lace and worse to the lace makers

Finally, a finish by
Karen C
Between being sick and scattering my time among projects, it's been a
while since I finished anything.
It's a cute little npt angel ornament meant to roll into a cone, but now
I have to figure out how to finish it -- as is, or do I glue it to
cardboard first? And how do I "hem up her...

not project help - but storage of stitched item by
Cheryl Isaak
Okay - have decided it was just plain old time to do something about the
"stuff" in the basement (have already donated 3 bags and 5 boxes of
stuff to the local thrift shop, + 100 books to library sales room)...but
have a issue with this find.
Some of my MILs linens got stored in card board and...

RCTN activity by
Jacqueline[_3_]
Is it my newsreader, or are there only a few posts a day? Until
recently, I hadn't been active here for several years, and back then
there were maybe 25 - 50 posts a day (very rough estimate!). Is it
really that quiet now?

What I'm reading by
Karen C
"Love and Capital" -- the love story of Jenny and Karl Marx. Intriguing
trivia, while he was railing against the moneyed class, he was being
supported by his mother-in-law, the Baroness of Westphalia. Why didn't
anyone mention that when I was a political science major?
Yesterday I went to a...

Needlework System 4 by

Is anyone using the Needlework System 4 stand? Any comments, likes,
dislikes? My old Grip-it stand needs replaced, and I'm leaning toward
the Needlework System 4. Unfortunately I don't live anywhere near an
LNS where I could try it. In fact, I'm not sure I can find one in
Australia, may have to...

I hope everyone is OK back there - getting lots of stitching done by generator or kerosene lamp! I almost feel guilty sitting here in southern Oregon with sunshine coming through my window. :-)

actually got some major stitching time in by
Cheryl Isaak
While "watching" the Super Bowl. At least the game was good because the
ads weren't as fun as in years past. Liked the VW one with the white guy
with the Jamaican accent and the Taco Bell one with the senior citizens.
But none that were "oh I want to see that one again".
Did stitch quite a bit...
