Geil Glaze Kiln Info by
Jesse
What are your feelings about Geil glaze kilns, specifically a front-loading
fiber-lined model. There website looks good, but I wanted to hear what
people that have fired them have to say.
Thanks!

pottery wheels by
Alan & Marti
I am living in the Durham NC area and looking for a pottery wheel for my
wife's anniversary present. She was a ceramics major in college, so I want
something that is good enough for a skilled potter. Anyone have any
suggestions on type/manufacturer/stores to buy from? I'd also be interested

Closing one Sondahl pottery website, continuing other by
Brad Sondahl
I'm closing my website on Earthlink within a month , and currently
redirecting all the traffic (still 60 hits a day, mostly potters) there
to my permanent home, http://sondahl.com. I've added a lot of pages in
the last 6 months, some of them pottery how-to related, most of them
useful, so please...

The latest victory against the spammers by
wayne
Recently, a thread about the spammers had some people
questioning the validity (usefulness) of responding to the spammer's ISP
by typing in "abuse" and sending it back. I did that not three days
ago after the second attempt by those idiots to scam me.
The response I got is printed below.

Weird lip when pulling up by
Bubbles
Hi folks :-)
Being just a beginner when it comes to turning, I need to get rid of bad
habits before they lock on. One that I have notice now is that I somehow
pull some of the clay too far up, so that I get an extra loose lip at the
top. My only guess is that I was turning with long fingernails -...

glaze peeling off by
sandi
Hello Everyone,
I wipe my bisqued pots with a wet sponge before I glaze to rid them of
dust. I had one bowl that as the glaze was drying, the glaze started
peeling off in big chunks. I had to wash it all off and start over. I
was wondering what might have made this happen. Maybe the bowl was
too...

Questions on Ingredients by
dkat
Well just posting has gotten me to the point of ordering ingredients. Now
I'm stuck on which ones. Can anyone tell my why one over the other? Is
the more expensive necessarily the better buy (or visa versa)?
