Where to find pix of natural fiber barbs? by
David R. Sky
Hi all,
A young friend has been playing violin for several years but didn't know
about barbs in horse tail and other natural fibers. (Horsetail hair is one
of the fibers used for the bow of a violin, cello, etc.)
I tried googling, including using "pictures" in my search terms, but didn't
find...

"Lifeline" residue by
myswendy
Ok, I goofed. I desperately needed to put in a lifeline (having
learned OH-SO-MANY-TIMES the hard way!)...but I didn't have cotton
yarn at the time that was thin enough.I had been told that using
cotton would minimize any discoloration. (I am using thin white cotton
yarn on 4-0 needles for the main...

I picked up both at Tuesday Morning on Saturday Afternoon and now I'm trying
make them WIP instead of UFO or stash fodder.

I am sorry, I have been in the hospital for 3 weeks and home since
Friday. I fell in the bathroom and finished rupturing L5 in my lower
back. When I went to the hospital and the doctor did an MRI he decided
C3 in my neck was worse and operated on it. It solved several problems
I have had. ...

Teaching 2nd Graders to Knit by
hesira
Every year the school my kids go to holds a silent auction of items
that were made by each class. This year I have been tapped to come up
with and idea be the leader for my 2nd grader's class of approximately
25 7-8 year olds. I was thinking of teaching them to knit and have
each one knit a...

Ravelry (Again!) by
Shillelagh
Hi all
I got my invite yesterday, so logged on to check it all out. I know I'm
going to enjoy it and will have to be careful about the amount of time I
spend there.
One thing I'm liking about it already: the ability to call up a particular
yarn and see the projects people have made from it. ...

Almost an FO by

Hi Everyone,
I've been lurking but not posting much lately. Busy with the boys and
summertime.
I finally sewed the vintage baby jacket together. I have a few loose
ends and it needs buttons, but it turned out pretty well. I don't
know if you remember the dye lot problem, but I had to use a...

Need yarn advice by
Leah
Hi everyone,
I'm still here, mostly lurking these days, since life has gotten very
busy.
One of my friends who's not online much has a specific project in
mind, and I don't know how to direct her, since we live in the same
area and frequent the same yarn shops.
She'd like a bright green...

The Other Kim
Well, where better to have S.E.X. than on vacation??
I spent the last week in Montreal and insisted on going to at least one
yarn shop while there. Unfortunately, the first one we tried to find
was no longer at the address listed on a few different websites, and
others weren't on the...

Fulling Cashmere by
hesira
I have several old cashmere sweaters that have seen better days, and
I'd like to recycle them by fulling and using the fabric for
projects. I have a front loading washer that is really gentle on
clothes. I washed a light blue sweater using the hot cycle with
detergent and a pair of jeans. Not...
