cleaning sewing room by
Idahoqltr
For months my sewing room only has had a small path cleared to get to
the sewing machine. My friend said she would help me clean it but we
have had to postpone starting on it for several weeks. So I started
doing a little each day. I put the batting in the closet under the
stairs, the jeans in a...

2006-2007 RCTQ BOM by
Melissa in NJ
After the current RCTQ BOM ends in March, April is the beginning of the
next BOM year. I was thinking of hanging up my BOM hat. Not becuase I
don't enjoy it...it is a blast!!!...but having a different person lead
the BOM and picking out blocks will likely give the BOM a completely
new and different...

OT Grandbaby Happy Dance by
maryd
Nikolas Alexander arrived at 12:55 a.m. Nov 3. He weighs 6 pounds 13 ounces
and is 18 inches long. Everyone is just fine. I've only had about 3 hours
sleep so haven't put pictures up on webshots yet.

I learned by
KJ
I don't like sewing the layered chenille style lap quilts.
If I did try it again, I'd try to figure out a way to put the binding on
after the washing.....if I were giving it as a gift. The flannel binding
got fuzzy and "pilly" and the lap quilt doesn't look new!
I also learned that if you start...

where can i buy cheap t-shirts in bulk (for African kids?) by
Paul Turner
Hi there,
I am looking for a place that sells very cheap kids t-shirts in bulk.
Does anyone know anywhere?
My girlfriend is currently living in Malawi teaching orphan kids who
are in desperate need of clothing, mainly t-shirts.
(her blog is www.carolinetredrea.co.uk if you want to check it out)

HUG pictures to come by
Terbear
Hi everyone,
just wanted to let you know I will be updating the HUG gallery very soon
with more HUG pictures. I am still waiting for Grandma & Grandpa's HUGs to
return from the quilters & I will post some presentations once I get to give
them out. Their quilts are already in the gallery though....

Nadine's HUG by
CNY/VAstitcher
Since she has received it and posted about it, I have posted some
pictures of the HUG in progress and finished. Sorry for the quality,
the camera is a cheap version from WalMart and the pictures were taking
in a green room....sigh.

OT Hotel reservations by
KJ
DH is bugging me to get our reservations made for our trip in three weeks to
Edinburgh. Ok, ok, so I'm a little behind....he's just as capable as I am
and hasn't done it either.
Have any of you used Priceline.com to make reservations? What did you think
of the room you got? There can be such a...

some of the Easy angles
I am in need of the
easy tri-mate
companion angle and the easy angle.
Unless I don't really need them.
I would like to make the
Winter pines wall hanging at the EZ quilting web site.
and it calls for the angles I have stated..

needle position on an old White by
KI Graham
A student brought in an old White sewing machine to class...I'd guess
1960-something. It has a zig-zag adjustment with a sliding bar from 1-8, plus two
little silver knobs that seem to move with the zig zag. My problem? We can't
figure out how to move the needle for straight stitch -- currently...

I just had to vent, brag, whine a little and since ya'll are my bestest
friends these days.......
This morning, while getting ready to take Billy to school - he's
watching HGTV (not unusual) when Simply Quilts comes on - he hollers to
me in the bathroom - "Come here mom, you need to watch this...

Ziplock find by
Kate G.
Just remember, you don't want to leave fabric in them for prolonged periods
of time... because moisture is also locked in and over time could mildew
and damage your fabrics.

Churn Dash Question by
Patti
Could anyone please tell me whether Churn Dash block is usually put with
a 'natural' partner block? Or is it used by itself - perhaps with
alternating colours? Or what? ... I am woefully lacking in knowledge of
traditional blocks' usage.
I'd be grateful for whatever info. You have. ...

Squished!! by
frood
I just got a fantastic, perfect, just for me squishie! A fabric that called
my name to the sender has been delivered by the postie! It's a skull and
crossbones batik that is just begging to be made into a piratical quilt. Oh,
my. Yes, the sender has been thanked. I just wanted to share...

OT Thanks from Tig (for feline advice) by
Judie in Penfield NY
Thanks to everyone who gave me such great tips and advice to help my much
loved Tigger to get up on the bed. For now, he has a temporary method
using a sewing machine stool and a sewing box to make a sort of stairway
for him to get into bed. (My bed, actually, but he spends at least as much
time...

OT Yes Polly is a tattletale by
Kate T.
Yes ladies I had six count them six cowboys from Lubbock, Texas appear
at my door yesterday. No spurs, but with chain saws. They cut trees
and had a big van with a huge rope that they lassoed those trees with
and rode them all the way to the street where they were corraled neatly
in the ditch...
