RBQ? by
Nancy in NS
Does anyone have a link or a contact addy for the RBQ
(Rather Be Quilting) group of Canadian quilters? I was an
active member at one time and I've lost all contact info. A
search brought up nothing. Any help would be appreciated.

OT An Oldtimer is kind of back... by
Maria Bengzon
Hi!
It's been about ten years (!) since I was a regular to this newslist, but
just recently I found my way back. I did finish a babyquilt for my son (he's
8 now) and it's still on his bed, but the queen size has been resting since
then (can you still call it a WIP?)
I recognise a few names -...

AliceW
Well, it's a good think I got the Directory formed opened yesterday morning.
I went to a birthday party for a friend's 4 year old with my DD and DGS and
came home to find that the nice mail man delivered my Quilted Diamonds
books, CDs and DVD!
If you're wondering why you haven't gotten your...

What would you do? by
Trixie
Last year we found a niece who had been adopted at birth, and who is now 28
years old. We have been corresponding, and now I want to make her a quilt.
This is what she says she likes:
"I am not a flowery type person, I like bold colors like blues, purples, and
oranges...polka dots and stripes...

Blood update -- Not OT by
gloworm
Just wanted to let you all know that all the blood came out of the baby
quilt for grandson Ashton. I finally finished the binding and the
label on Wednesday evening -- well, Midnight isn't really evening . . .
I didn't want to wash it right after writing on the label, so I
waited and washed it...

I will be pressing blocks and getting pics taken later tonight (have to
get kiddos in bed, DH messed up and promised them videos - they should

I am trying to fill out the directory form and don't know what they want for
my screen name. Is it the name I sign with or the name that appears in the
"from" column?

Quick trip to Omaha by
Susan Laity Price
We received word yesterday that Dave's uncle died in Omaha. The
funeral will be Saturday. We are leaving this morning and driving
across I-80. Won't really have time to meet anyone from RCTQ.
Since Dave will want a rest this afternoon we will stop at a quilt
shop somewhere around Des Moines. If he...

French Braid Quilts by
Susan Laity Price
I used the pattern in the "Can of Worms" book. Great way to use-uop
scraps. Sorry no picutre. I used all novelty Christmas prints with a
common cream background and a holly print between the rows of braids.
It was very easy to make although I somehow stretched the border so it
isn't...

Hunting red and pin bites by
Polly Esther
I think maybe I can do two topics at once. If you are hunting a glorious
pure red for a holiday project, take a look at Moda Marbles Christmas Red.
It doesn't lean toward orange or blue, just a wonderful Christmas red - and
it's been around so long it's on sale at several places. I just used...

I've done some Herringbone, Terri, which is not a million miles away
from the picture on the cover of the book - just minus the square
between the angles strips. Effective isn't it. Lovely!

Woohoo! Celebrating my first customer by
Karen Garza
I had my very first customer for my quilting service today. I quilted the
quilt this morning with a maple leaf pattern and it came out very nice. The
owner picked it up this afternoon and she was pleased with it. I had ice
cream to celebrate :-)
