Replace elastic around top of sock? by
ascus.lsil
Does anyone know how to replace the elastic around the top of a sock?
I have a bag full of socks that don't stay up any more but are
perfectly fine.
Thanks.

I have lost the manual for my Janome 419S and need to make 12
buttonholes to complete a shower curtain. I have the slider foot for
buttonholes but I don't know what settings to use for the one-step
feature. THe most obvious is the symbol for buttonholes on the A-J
wheel, but what about thread...

Hello all-
I've just found this newsgroup and am hoping someone here can help me out. Let

Step 1 by
Atom1
I thought I'd share my transgression.
Step 1: Admitting there's a problem (defeating the denial)
I order lots of fabrics via internet- I have more than enough for the
hereafter.
I currently am on a serious fabric diet. I have squished myself right out
of my sewing room- my DH reminds me of this...

Death & Stashes by
Atom1
My DH&I were discussing wills and I wanted to know what you all plan to do
with your sewing stash after you pass. Thought of being buried with it, but
I don't think there's a hole big enough. Neither him nor my DD or extended
friends or family (that will be around after my demise) have any idea...

Want to teach sewing by
Atom1
I have been asked to teach teens to sew. I am stumped on how long to have
the course what to teach as basic- without overwhelming them. And a
contemporary project to keep them interested while teaching a
variety of skill, and that's probably not going to be the classic apron.
I would appreciate...

inverted pleated drapery by
[email protected]
Hi
Hope someone out there can help me! I'm hoping to make some inverted
pleated drapes for my living room. My understanding is that this type
of pleat is not the same as a box pleat (which needs 3X fullness) but,
rather, is the reverse of a pinch pleat (which needs 2.5X fullness).
I know how to...

Is there such a thing as a "complete" kit, machine, software, frames, etc? by
Autumn
I am not interested in embroidering huge pictures. I would like something
that would put little things on shirt collars, cuffs, pockets, baby and
children's clothes. I am thinking absolutely nothing bigger than about 4-5".
Most things I would like to do would be little, 1"-2".
I have a good...
