OT who? oil painting artists here? by
Polly Esther[_5_]
I have a very strange request from my sister and need some help. When her
granddaughter was visiting here, I had sketched 3 hummingbirds. I painted
one, she painted one (hers looks like a fuzzy purple duck) =) and there is
one who is still just a sketch.
The canvas 'as is' is a special...

It has been a day.
My prepaid credit card for online shopping is broken. The company
assures me that they are "expiditing" my account to fix the problem.
Which after some 3 days of complaints by me, they figured out is a bit
more widespread than just little old moi.

new here, how do I view photos posted? by
Lourdes
Hello All,
I'm new here, I am new to quilting. I have been dabbling in this hobby for 3
years. I still feel like a BEGINNER though.
I have just finished my 2nd hand appliqued quilt top. Now, I'm on a mission to
learn how to hand quilt it.
I was just wondering how to view photos posted.
I clicked...

Squishie - I GOT A SQUISHIE by
Steven Cook
Yes, I got my very first squishie. And from our very own Polly.
She emailed the other day and said that after she'd "stolen" my idea for red
ultra-suede berries, she had some and wondered if I'd like a hunk or two.
Well, it showed up Monday and besides red there was a piece of blue, white,...

Where is everyone - no messages since 13 November. by
Di Maloney[_3_]
I hope everyone is OK - maybe they are doing quilting - I hope so.
A question, where can I send some money to for the "Sandy" people?
I would like to help in some small way.
Regards,

OT except that I do prewash fabric... by
Monique in TX[_2_]
My faithful washer's tub is losing its enameling beyond the ability to
be touched up. My beloved work-horse dryer is making noises like the
Russian army descending on the house with full artillery. I fear
neither is long for this world, and to be fair, both are 19. Can
someone recommend a...

Prayers for lost cat, please by
Tia Mary
Well, for those who remember the saga of Cheeto, I want to ask for
prayers because he got out the electronic dog door and has been gone for
five days now :-(. He and Raechel (the SMDGD) have been connected at
the hip since we gave him to her three years ago this Christmas.
Needless to say, she...

OT Storm Sandy by
Ginger in CA
Hope everyone is braced for the storm making the news. Take care, all.
To our "Sandy"s here on the group, we know you aren't nearly as destructive as this storm appears, unless it is attacking your fabric stash ;)

OT (sort of) - Charter will drop usenet groups by
Julia in MN[_5_]
I was notified by Charter (my ISP) that they will be dropping usenet
groups on Dec. 10. I feel fortunate to have had it as long as I have. I
looked back through past posts to this group to find an alternative. I
am now accessing this group via aioe.

How would you make a grapevine? by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
I need to put some pizzazz on a finished art type wallhanging and Polly inspired me to use a 3D grapevine with leaves around the edges. (She has nooooo idea she did it- yet! g) I need about 10 ft. of vine and am stumped.
The vine needs to be the size of a pencil or less, so making a fabric...

Wow, was it a long time ago when I made this website. It used to be at
Geocities -- without ads, of course! Geocities has been gone for a few
years now. I can't believe that I actually updated this Tripod site in May
2011. In August 2011 I moved...

T-shirt quilt sensibility? by
Polly Esther[_5_]
Niece has asked me to make a t-shirt quilt. I've seen the methods and seen
some quite stunning ones at quilt shows. Maybe I could talk me into it but
am having a problem already with the time involved and the results. What is
the life-expectancy of such a quilt? Do they make it through use and...
