pure gold not so pure? by
m4816k
Recently I saw that on the surface of one of my 24k ingots, a small brown
dot developed, and it was while the piece was still in original package
(cardboard/plastic). I thought that some dirt may have entered the space
within, and decided to take it out to see if it can be cleaned. I used a dry...

Help? by
[email protected]
Hi,
I, a rank amateur, need help. Not having a workshop yet, I've been
mostly buying settings and gemstones and just putting them together. I
bought some rings for my kids for Christmas. My daughter's pronged
ring I had no problem with. The three oldest boys I just can't seem to
get. The...

"Golden Mean Guage"? by
[email protected]
I've been looking for examples of these on internet and so far only
have found one place that makes them(for lots of $). I wondered if

found nothing. What did the Greeks use?
I work for a company that makes supplies for people...

I fell in love with Italy on my very first trip many years ago. When
you see the warm colors of Tuscany, the rolling hills with cypress

REGAL made safety chains by
Rich[_2_]
I have several REGAL made safety chains made over 30 years ago. REGAL
were an English company. On the card the chains were on, it says,
"Sterling silver".
I dipped the chains in (30 year old) silver dip for about 5 minutes.
They are now bright, but some look decidedly yellowish. I don't get...

diameter. I need a loupe to see the last few holes in the plate. Are
there any tricks to draw down wire this thin? I will be using 22k-24k
