What are we stitching? by
Joan Erickson
I thought it was time for another round...
I'm nearing completion of Judy Dixon's "Morning light". I'm just
starting the outer row and then there's the bs, French knots & beading
left to do. I didn't want to spend $6+ for one skein of floss, so I'm
stitching the outer row with a skein of...

Saving Santa by
Donna D.
I found a beautifully stitched Santa I swear was a Miriblla design but can
not find a picture of it at a church sale. I can not believe someone
stitched and beaded such a beautiful picture only to double side tape it and
use cardboard box for a mat and an ugly frame. I know whoever did the piece...

Who Are We? by

a month ago. Luckily, I was on my way home from Michaels/groceries when it
happened, so I had...

Time for "What are you stitching?" by
Joan Erickson
We haven't had this topic for awhile, so thought it was time again.
Currently I'm working on "Mice babies birth announcement" for a
coworker. Criminys, I didn't think this pattern was *that* old...can't
find a pic anywhere for it! It's a Janlynn pattern. This is the
closest I saw: ...

who is snowed in today? (Tuesday 2/1) by
Susan Hartman[_2_]
We're not snowed in, but ice on the road closed schools this a.m. while
we await more "mixed mess" later today. I'm just happy not to be at work
and have a quiet day at home today!
Planning to get some extra stitching done, and maybe attack a closet
that's long overdue for a cleanout. DD used...

How Can You Tell An Antique from A Copy? by
Monica Ferris
If someone brought to you a dirty, stained piece of linen in a broken frame and you saw it was a sampler dated 1882, how could you tell it was actually a copy? I'm thinking it was stitched on uneven-count linen with silk floss. This is to be a minor plot point in the mystery novel I'm writing. ...

A small whine by
Cheryl Isaak
It is the prefect morning to sit and stitch. Trash is out, the laundry is
caught up and frankly a heating pad is in order on my lower back.. And I
have to wait for return calls
BUT THERE IS NOTHING BUT CRAP on TV.

On topic: an author who "gets it" by
Susan Hartman[_2_]
I read this paragraph this morning, and immediately smiled and re-read
it, and re-read it again. Perfection!
"It was one of the pinafores Saffy had sewn when Merry first arrived,
made from a lovely piece of Liberty fabric ordered years ago, not
because Saffy had a project in mind, but because...

WooHoo! A finish! by
Joan Erickson
I finished the birth record for my former coworker's baby. I finally
got it stretched and taken to Michael's, who has had the frame waiting
for over a month.
It's an old JanLynn design. I wish I knew what type of aida cloth they
used because it was much nicer than most of what I've worked on....

Eyes -- an update by
Danny Breidenbach
I got my fancy new "old man" glasses two days ago. Progressive lenses. Fancier than no-line bifocals, but they follow the same idea. So far so good on general usage about town, although I just generally feel more aware of my glasses than usual. The best I can describe it is as having sort of a...

Floss Organizing System ?? by
Lucille[_3_]
I know this has been asked and answered a gazillion times, but I'm dense and
I never really paid attention.
I got extremely frustrated this afternoon looking for a certain color of
DMC thread (I never did find it) and I decided it's time to do something
about my messy system.
So what's the...
