own a company that does home restorations and themes in which we build
a lot of...

Baking thin pieces of clay by
Charles Woolever
I tested baking a piece of Sculpy III tonight. I have some 1"x1"x 1/16"
thick squares I'm making. The temp for Sculpy is 275F and 15 minutes for
1/4" thick. So, based on my one fourth that thickness, I baked for 1/4
the time. I burned it up! Any ideas on how long to bake this?
Also, I tried two...

Hi all :) I just started claying and I'm very excited about all the
possibilities! Now all I need is talent ;) I had a couple questions,
one how do I cut down on finger prints and distortion when I'm putting
cane slices on an object? I want to neatly & completely cover boxes,
pens, whatever but I...

Sad news and a (sorta) AD by
Barbara Forbes-Lyons
Our girl doggie, Babes had a small skin tumor removed on Monday and the
lab results are back and it's a level 2 sarcoma (cancer). We need to
have additional surgery done, plus drug therapy and possibly some
'cancer hunt' type tests to determine if the cancer cells have spread to
other areas, like...

Hi everyone. I am not sure if this has been asked before or not, but I am looking for a portable oven to use outside in baking polymer clay. I know that there are issues with uneven heating in some ovens and saw this ad for a Koolatron which is on sale at Target. Has anyone tried this unit? If...

Etchant? by
cAndRaley
I'm making some jewelry inspired by a terrific book, "Creating Your Own
Antique Jewelry" by Cris Dupouy. When I picked this up at the library I
figured it involved using metals; I didn't even look inside 'til I got it
home. What a pleasant surprise that it's all about clay!
Sooo.... I'm using...
