gold plating by DH in Denver
A guy told me he could gold plate and object which is about as big in surface area as a small egg. He said he could do it while I waited. I'd think it'd take a while for the gold to be deposited on the object. Are there other ways of plating other than electroplating, where the object is placed...

Casting Resin beads? by Kylie Hoschke
Hi all, I'd like to try making some beads from casting resin, does anyone have any hints on this? Has anyone tried it? I've been doing some surfing round but I haven't been able to find much, and my partner said it would be too difficult (I think he just doesn't want me to use his sinker moulds!!)...

HI, I am having trouble with proud pearls on rings coming off. They have a hard life and are pinned in the standard way. However if worn every day will free themselves after one year. If anyone has some advice about how to secure a 8mm button/round pearl that can stand the above punishment please...

vaccum casting machine by Daniel
Thank you heinrich I am already using a vaccum cleaner, which allows aspiration casting (connected to a pressure cooker with a "home made" cover) , easy but less efficient than vaccum casting in some cases. The idea of "sticks" of wax, on the side of the cylincer is great. I 'll try asap....

I, like many of you I'm sure, have experimented with casting all kids of stuff: insects, plants, small fish and lizards, etc. , but I don't have much experience in plastics. I assume that there are types of plastics that are not at all suited for this, ie: leftover soot, cinders or ashes,...
