blocks from fleece for quilt by
**k**
Can anyone tell me if they were successful in cutting squares of all
different fleece fabrics to make a quilt top? I was thinking I could
make some squares 10" and then smaller ones to make a 4-patch and
alternate them. I have been saving fleece for this for ages, but now
that I'm ready to do...

Border? by
*KoffeeKupz*
These are 14.5 inch blocks with a light multi blue/beige/navy and plain
beige with navy centers. I dont have any more of the multi colour fabric but
I do have a light blue that matches (plain fabric) as well as more of the
navy and beige. The blocks were made with 2.5 inch strips. I dont know...

Bright Orange, tye dye and blue by
*KoffeeKupz*
would this type of pattern be a good idea?
http://www.geocities.com/quiltfrenzy_archives/faux-logcabin.html
I am having a hard time with my son's fabric because I dont want to cut the
strips too small and lose the effect of the tye dye, its way too cool to not
have it in larger pieces.
Here is the...

Does anyone own the John Flynn Multi-Frame System? by
- dlm.
Just popped 'round John Flynn's site to find the quilt backing formula that 'Sally at the Seaside' recommended. I noticed that the multi-frame system has a relatively reasonable price-point and can be used for both hand and MQing. I've never gotten used to MQing anything larger than a placemat...

Binding query... by
- dlm.
Hello!
I recently decided to finish an ancient Asian Style lap quilt. I do mean ancient! The lap quilt was started in 2002. All the blocks were made but I just never cut the strips for the skinny and wide borders. Nor did I cut and make the bias binding.
Fast forward to present day...

Seeking recommendation for sewing machine extension table by
- dlm.
Hello!
I own an Elna 6003 Quilters Dream sewing machine. My sewing table is
nothing more than a flat desk with the SM sitting on top. I've always
had difficulty with free-motion quilting, so I've decided to take
another class. One of my not-so-local QS recommends the use of an
extension table...

Paper piecing query... by
- dlm.
Hello!
I would like to try my hand at paper-piecing a Mariner's Compass block. My
query has to do with the type of paper that I should use. Does anyone have
a favourite that they recommend? Is it readily availble? I don't have a
SWLTH nearby and my LQS really is not-so-local. TIA!

Long sashing strips query... by
- dlm.
Will the Quilt Police issue a citation if I'm forced to piece all of my long sashing strips? Is this going to be an egregious error on my part? If not, will I just piece the strips on the diagonal, much like I would do with binding? For aesthetics purposes, should I make each row of long sashing...

Ideas for a hug quilt that will be quick to piece and finish? by
- dlm.
Hello,
As some of you know, I am the "Queen of Procrastination," aka the "Empress
of UFOs." I need some ideas for a lap size hug quilt. I need something
that will be easy to piece and quilt. However, since I'm not particularly
good at MQing unless the block size is relatively small, I will...

Help sought for yardage requirements... by

I found an old pattern of a Single Wedding Ring quilt ( N.B., this block is
also known as a Crown of Thorns ). The original quilt and fabric
requirements were listed for a finished quilt measuring 66 inches by 85
inches. The block size is listed as 10.625. They are set on-point. The...

Machine Quilting Advice needed by
- dlm.
Hi, I'm Dawn, and I am a self-professed MQing "failure." I've taken
classes, and practised. I've practised quilting straight lines. I've
practised stipple quilting. I've even practised MQing the pattern on the
fabric. When I MQ small blocks ( no larger than 24 * 24 inches ), the
quilting...

OT - From Russia with Love! by

I'm here! I just wanted to let you know that I'm fine. I would write
more, but I have about 3 minutes left at this internet cafe. I found
a fabric store, but it's not as we know it... mostly fabrics for suits
and a few things for curtains. Also some linens.
If you need my address, in order to...

OT - Fons and Porter "For the Love of Quilting" May/June 2004 by
-- Jo in Scotland
Someone was raving about a project in this magazine - was it Polly? -
and saying how simple the instructions were, and how generous the
cutting was, so that it was a joy to make the baby quilt project in
the magazine. Does anyone have a copy they would either part with for
money, or trade for...

OT - more on pillows by

Tia Mary's question about how to do a pillow with quilt blocks got me
to thinking, because I am doing several patchwork-fronted
pillows/cushions for Christmas 2004 presents. Do not panic, I am not
an overachiever, but I will be in Russia at Christmastime (25th
December is not their Christmas, it...

Hello folks,
I'm looking for a copy of the book "Fantastic Fabric Folding" by
Rebecca
Wat. Does anyone have a copy they would be willing to sell to me?
Maybe you bought it and have never made any of the projects. I think
this would be the perfect end-of-year gift for one of my lecturers!
