Fabric selection? by
muse9
As most of you know I am a total newby at making quilts but very excited
about learning. I decided that my first project would be a doll quilt for
my DGD. I make a lot of doll clothes for her anyway and this will be a nice
addition to her collection. It doesn't hurt, of course, that it is...

Old quilting magazines by
JS
Hi, all.
I have tons of quilting magazines that must go. Is anyone interested in
them? Some go back to the 80's, from a friend of mine, and some of mine are
only a few years old. I was thinking I could send a few to anyone who is
interested, however many will fit in some large envelopes I...

Sewing space pictures by
NinaJ
Hi All,
I know everyone enjoys looking at pictures, so I've put new ones on my
newsgroup page at:
http://www.chebucto.ns.ca/~ae862/RCTQ/
Still doing baby quilts - one mailed, one sandwiched, one in progress
and one more to plan (so far). For grand kids of a dear friend, SIL
and BIL I'm...

back in the world of normal people by
Irene
Dear Friends,
I just received a gentle prompt from one of you, that people have been
trying to reach me and my other e-mail addresses were no longer
functional (a case of not being able to pay those bills...)I was also
frankly ashamed to admit that I was telemarketing for a living: I am
now...

One-to-One Swaps On Hold/Winter Swap by
MelissaInNJ
All,
Just making the announcement that my seasonal/quarterly one-to-one
swaps are on hold. I am having some bad experiences with things that I
am hosting and I am feeling a little turned off/burned out right now.
Since I know so many of you enjoy them and look forward to them, I
don't want to say...

Thanks & Some Pics by
JustPeg
I want to thank everyone for all the prayers and hugs. They mean so much to
us.
Just keep them coming ...... we have another conference with the Oncologist
next week, so we will see how things are going.
Meanwhile, I have actually done something with all my nervous energy! I
finally updated my...

"biggie" quilt shows...do you enter? by
Ann
It seems to me that Paducah is one of the biggie quilt show
Does anyone here enter their quilt? And get selected or not?
Does a chosen quilt have to be absolutely perfect to be picked for the show?
(in construction and quilting)?
I presume the competiton is fierce for getting a quilt...

OT Pilates class- just about killed me! by
nana2b
It is the day after the class and I can just about move my upper body. I
really enjoyed the class and plan to go back. I guess I am a glutton for
punishment. I figure once I get over the initial aches, it will benefit me.
As long as I can still make it to the computer and sewing room I...

Happy half dance.......... by
Pati Cook
Well, last Thursday evening I sat down to try and let you all know that
I have finished piecing my Dear Jane quilt. All 169 4 1/2 inch blocks,
52 triangles (app. 5"x7") and four corner kites. I even have all the
rows sewn together with sashing, and the horizontal sashing on part of
it. And all...

Pics of projects by
granny
Finally figured out how to do the scanning and the posting of pics of
things I have done. Still have a couple other pics that are still in my
ancient film camera. Not much of a photographer. Just do enough to take a
shot or two now and then. Hope you find my work acceptable, in spite of
the...

2487 patches and its finished! by
Taria
Well, the wedding is Saturday and I have the quilt all finished, labeled
and washed ready to give. The DWR I have been working on for my niece
is done. Woo Hoo!!! Don't have a photo up but it is real similar to the
one I made for my folks 50th anniversary quilt. Floral fabrics with
green...

Malvern is just a month away by
Krysia Thompson
ezzzactly.
so - the perennial question - who is going and when.
I DO hope the weather will be better than last year - I came and
went in one day spending probably equal amounts of time at the
show and in the car - left home at 5 am I think and got home at
10 or 11 pm.....damp and tired. this year...

Thunkies galore! by
Kate Dicey
The post brought TWO brown paper parcels today! Lovely anonymously
square boxes - not clue to the content, as the PO had managed to rip the
relevant bits off the customs stickers!
One was the pinking device for the treadle from Cathy in Virginia...
Cor! This is a fun gadjit! ;) DH had his head...

finished Paula Nadelstern block by
Queen of Squishies
I just posted a picture of my first attempt at Paula Nadelsterns
kaleidoscope blocks. Early this morning I decided how I'm going to quilt
it, so today I will begin that. I'm thinking of a few clear seed beads to
dress up the inner star. Opinions?

Paducah too quiet by
Polly Esther
This is just so scary. I haven't heard a peep from the folks who went to
Paducah, not a phone call from a Bail Bondsman (which could mean the judge
is not allowing bail), nothing from the Chief of Police, no protests from
the Decency Council. I'm afraid to ask but I will. What do you think...

Vest is finished by
Beth Pierce
I'd like to thank everyone for their tips on the panne velvet vest I
made for my SIL. She loved it! The suggestion about using flannel
instead of batting was an excellent one; the vest drapes nicely. I
didn't tack anything down nor did I quilt through the lining, but it
still came out nice. If...

OT - more on pillows by
-- Jo in Scotland
Tia Mary's question about how to do a pillow with quilt blocks got me
to thinking, because I am doing several patchwork-fronted
pillows/cushions for Christmas 2004 presents. Do not panic, I am not
an overachiever, but I will be in Russia at Christmastime (25th
December is not their Christmas, it...

New QI! by

After we were forced to have our beloved Muffin put to sleep last summer, I
swore I was never going thru that again. Well, here it is, less than a year
later and we have acquired 2 dogs. DH got Holly in November. She is a
Chesapeake Bay Retriever. We have enjoyed her so much that I decided...
