Anyone heard of a string bag? by
Trish Brown
Does anyone remember the dear old string bag their Nanna used to take to

make a couple of the old fashioned string bags, which expanded
beautifully to...

Anyone up for a little Singer troubleshooting help? by
David Nebenzahl
My (previously) trusty Singer no longer sews, and I can't figure out why.
It's a "No. 15", at least according to Singer's serial # scheme from their
website. (Except that the manual I downloaded shows a treadle machine while
mine has that newfangled e-lectric motor; the kind with gears instead of...

Applique Baby Onesies by

Hello,
My wife just recently bought the Esante Baby Lock sewing machine in
hopes of being able to have the machine sew/stitch appliques onto baby
onesies. However, she cannot seem to find an easy way to do this. For
anyone familiar with sewing appliques onto clothing, how would you set
up the...

April Fool's Prank by
Delain
Go to www.simplicity.com and click on design search. Type in number
5363. Click on the result. One of these things is not like the
others. The best part? Simplicity's had this on their site for at
least a week now and no one's reported it.

ARGH! Need help on a gusset or four by

I'm hoping someone will be able to point me in the right direction on
this. I'm making a "traditional Chinese" top for tai chi. I'm
working off of one of my teacher's tops--which I'm not allowed to take
apart, blast it. Anyhow, the whole body of the garment--front, back
and sleeves down the the...

armscye fit question by
Elizabeth Young
I am working on a pattern for a somewhat fitted sleevless sheath dress.
(it is a Burda pattern)
I have run into my usual problem once again and have the following question.
The front of the armscye (if one can use that term for a sleevless
dress) is always too far out toward my shoulder, causing...
