Calling Clothing Historians by
Pogonip
Someone posted that she wore pants, not skirts and dresses - Juno? It
got me to thinking. Thought you smelled wood burning, didn't you? ;-)
Men in trousers and women in dresses seems contrary to anatomy. If I am
recalling correctly, it is also a relatively new way of dressing. Greek
and Roman...

Can anyone identify this gadget? by
[email protected]
I found this at a flea market. A piece of smooth flat metal, about
eight inches tall and an inch wide with a slot of about a quarter inch
down the entire length. On the upper left corner there is a blade very
similar to the blade of an exacto knife pointing down. At the very
bottom there is a...

I was watching an "X-treme Makeovers" rerun last night, and I saw a
stylist advising a guy to have his tie-dyed T-shirts tailored. I'd
never considered this possibility, but now that it's in my head...
I wear a lot of T-shirts (very few button-up shirts). I'm willing to
invest the time and...

refer me to an even better forum.
I am a librarian in Fresno, California, and was trying to help someone
today with a question about a silk top that was out...

Can't find filling material for ironing accessories by

Hi! I bought a really cute pattern for a set of ironing accessories,
such as a sleeve roll, dressmaker's ham, etc. The problem is I cannot
find the required filling material, sawdust, *anywhere*! Of course the
first places I tried were the Home Depot/Lowe's types. I got blank
stares and was...
