question about sewing with denim and faux furs. by
[email protected]
good morning everyone,
I am not an advid sewer, however, I have completed a few projects but I
really don't know much about sewing. What I have completed as been
through determination, tenacity, and the help of my mother. My
question is, what size needle and what tension are you suppose to...

New DMC Linen floss by
Donna D.
In Herschners there is an ad for the new DMC linen collection.
When I went to the DMC web site and Herschners site I couldn't find it. I
was wondering if anyone has tried it and what it was like.
I had planned to run to the LNS for stitch Friday but with after holiday
cleaning I can't find the...

Wooden boxes at Hallmark store by
Susan Hartman/Dirty Linen
Last night I went into the local Hallmark store and saw a new
promotion...Hallmark has lovely wooden boxes with velvet lining for
$9.95 with the purchase of three cards. The top of the box has a space
with access to place an insert - and would be a lovely box with a piece
of needlework...

Strategy by
Seanette Blaylock
One of the projects in my queue is the
Marbek Nativity. I would prefer the finished version to be all one
picture, not have it chopped up into five segments . I did consider the idea of doing it all on
one large piece of fabric, but gave up that idea when I added up the
widths of the panels and...

Philadelphia area shops? by
Julie T in VA
Forgive me if you see this message twice, I tried to post last week and never
saw my message or any responses.
My hubby and I are moving to Philadelphia, and I'm wondering what needlework
shops are in the area? I visited Fireside Stitchery this weekend, and think
it's a very nice shop - any others...

O.T. Paid Surveys On Line to pay for stash? by
Liz Hampton
Actually, this thread could very well be on topic if I ended up earning
enough money to keep me in stitching supplies. :-)) Has anyone had any
experience with http://www.paidsurveysonline.com? I found it while
looking for something entirely different but it looked interesting. Even if
I only...

Skinny Bucilla floss? by
Becky Andresen
Not sure if anybody does Bucilla kits, buuuuut....
Am I hallucinating, or is the floss in their recent (2003 and on) kits
really, really skinny?! It looked fine when I was organizing the colors,
but when it came time to stitch and I was separating the strands...I could
have been stitching with my...

A Christmas Elf and a Question by
Dianne Lewandowski
A mysterious package was delivered to my door late yesterday. Via a
delivery service entitled "Speedy Delivery". Never heard of them. There
was no return address. I asked the delivery man if he knew, and he said
no - - even as he had a touch pad that required delivery confirmation.
It was a...

Hi everyone!
I don't know if you know of my blogs, but if you do not
know, you will find the links below. I admit I have not
updated them for a while...but I have been busy. Knitting
and stitching keep me busy. But do not lose your hope, I am
alive and well.

Hunting for 'Old World' map patterns/kits by
Becky Andresen
Has anybody seen any cross stitch patterns for 'Old World' type maps? The
sort of map like in this picture
http://www.trefl.com/1500piece/trfy6019a-2.jpg
I've got a facination with maps of this sort, and I've already found and
partially finished a kit from Bucilla (I think) called 'New World...
