I don't quite get the worry and paranoia associated with Facebook and
the like.
It only gets as much information as YOU give it! If you don't want ti
to know your phone number, don't enter it. If you don't want it to
know your birthday, don't tell it!
While I am not advocating abandoning the group,...

Thread compatability by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
I want to use Bottom Line (fine polyester thread) in the bobbin and rayon thread on top to quilt a nap-sized hug quilt for a church member. We've all heard how poly thread can 'saw thru' cotton thread/fabric... most quilters have opinions on the subject. ;-) And rayon thread is quite fragile...

I have never cared much for Facebook- maybe it's my settings. But I guess I need to ask.... how does a quilter find rctq on Facebook?
I've been on rctq since the early 90s. This is a sad, sad, day. :-(

Quilt as you go by
Sartorresartus
I've just been playing happily (and not too expensively) with Amazon.
I fancied a book on QAYG. I 'think' I get the technique, but would
like a book with some good pictures and some inspiration. You-Tube
was fascinating as usual, but I got side-tracked again by Missouri
Quilt Shop (NAYY).

Quilt as you go by
Leslie & The Furbabies in MO.
I 'quilt as you go' by machine. When I join the quilted sections I add a finished size 'flap' of 3/4 to 1 in. which is folded over the raw seam on the back and hand stitched in place. No one, including me, has ever been offended by this flap but it would not give the look you are wanting. ...

Old dog, new trick by
Polly Esther[_5_]
I'm betting Louise will enjoy the subject line since she's into new puppy
lifestyle. Anyhow, I just now happened Pati's tip on birthing quilts.
Gee, Pati. I've birthed so many crib quilts and sometimes the opening
has warped and wiggled. Machine basting first really surely will...

What's your plan for today? by
Louise in Iowa
Happy Friday the 13th - what do you have planned for today? I'm going to
wish my nephew a happy birthday (he turns 13 on Friday the 13th - I
wonder if that has any special meaning!), and then I'm going to cut
pieces to take with me to a sewing day tomorrow. A group of up to 15
ladies get...

There's a red, white and blue quilt on the Bernina right now to go to the
military hospital in Germany. I'm FM quilting - just wandering, no
particular pattern except I'm staying off of the white flying geese so
they'll puff up when laundering time comes. I avoid 'big' quilts because
