What is a good way of taking jewelry pictures with a digital camera? I can't
seem to get them "nice" enough. I am really picky :o)
My apartment has very bad light so I have been taking the pieces outside and

pictures, which...

ring cleaner problem by
My friend dunked a .925 silver pin into a jewelry cleaning fluid
and it came out with a gold colored surface. She said it was a new
bottle of the stuff, but that it had never happened before with the same
type of fluid.
Has anyone heard of this happening before? Anyone have an explanation
for...

I make jewelry as a hobby and for gifts. I would like to make some
earrings for my mother, but she does not have pierced ears.
Can anyone tell me where I can find clip on castings or conversion kits?

Flat White Circular Earrings? by
[email protected]
I saw someone with a flat, white earring to-day. It was sort of
punk-esque, but they definitely weren't plugs or fake plugs; they were
just thin circles like the end of a push pin but slightly larger. They
were something like these ear stud flat...

Cast vs hand-made by
A & L Lane
Can anyone give me some advice on the differences between jewellery that is
cast and that which is hand made - obviously the hand made item is always
more expensive but does it wear better, is it stronger, etc? Someone
recently told me that that cast items sometimes have bubbles and such...

Optivisor Help by
A.J.Martin
Hello friends,
I want to get my wife something for her jewelry making hobby for Christmas.
Can anyone recommend which optivisor magnification level is best for beading
and jewelry making?
Or...do you even like an optivisor? or would a flexible arm magnifier be
better?
Thanks to you all.

silver clay and rock tumblers by
A.J.Martin
I'm new to this newsgroup, hello. I'm looking for a good rock tumbler to
burnish fired silver clay pieces. There are quite a few on the market to
choose from. Anyone have an opinion or advice about these little machines?
Vibrating or tumbling? Stainless shot or polishing grit? Help!

Hello everyone,
My wife has been really getting into making jewelry the last two years, so
much so, that she and my daughter are even doing a 'Mother/Daughter' show in
December.
I'd like to invest in her new found hobby and ramp her up to 'the next
level'.
To my thinking, this would be giving her...

Silver chain color by
[email protected]
Hello
A little part of my silver Marina chain's color has turned black. How
can I clean it? Will the regular chain cleaners remove the black spots?
Thanks for your advice.
