Air Bubble by Lindsay MacArthur
I threw a bowl yesterday and last night realized that there was an air bubble on the outside. I popped it but now that area is thin. If it fires okay would that spot be a weak point in piece? LMac

Cold weather cracking? by Lindsay MacArthur
My studio is an old wood shop attached to our barn. Insulation is poor and the only heat is from two space heaters which aren't on all the time. Is there a risk of my bone dry pieces cracking if the temperature gets too low? LMac

observations about throwing big pots by ProfessorSparky
I like to throw big, but as yet I'm still self-taught and what I am doing is throwing them in one go and using porcelain. This is difficult, I find. I tend to throw thin and a large porcelain piece doesn't like that, no matter how much I dry it with a metal scraper. Nevertheless I've gotten...

refiring by GaSeku
I refired a bowl that had previously overfired and was quite full of bubbles. My thinking was that another firing would smooth them out, but they are the same, if not worse. It seemed like something that should work. Why didn't it? Any ideas? Thanks, Gaye
