Parents 50th Wedding Anniversary by
Katherine H
Hi everyone,
I haven't been stitching much in the past two years and so I've lost
touch with reading this group and knowing what's new in needlework.
Though I do have plenty of stash on hand just aching to be played with
again and I'm feeling the itch myself to get back into it.
My parents 50th...

Bruce treadle sewing machine info request by
Mamie K. Anding
Hi. I read this group years ago, and then lost access.
I have a friend online whose mother is needing information on a brand of
treadle sewing machine we've never heard of. It's a Bruce. We've tried
Google and Dogpile, but nothing comes up. So, I thought someone in this
group might know about...

Beautiful laying tool!! by
Mavia Beaulieu
Awhile back Victoria showed us some of the laying tools she had been making.
The ones on her website were lovely but all too large for what I was used to
using. I described to her the Best tool I now have. It's about 4 inches
long, very slender, made of metal which unfortunately...

OT - Teen Magazine by
Sharon
Can anyone recommend a magazine for teens - something that will
encourage her to look after herself, discuss normal family problems,
how to co-ordinate clothes, how to deal with people who are not so
nice, etc. Granddaughter will be 13 this month and I'd really like her
to have something to read...

Yeah, 2 items finished by
The Lady Gardener
And, in time for the course with CA Wells this weekend.
http://myembroidery.bigblog.com.au/gallery.do
The pics are of rather average quality, as the light was fading while I was
getting the photos. When I have finished items - a pyramid etui and a
needlebook - I will put some pics of them up...

Silver Lining question? by
Anne Tuchscherer
I saw the earlier thread about the 25th Anniversary rose and it is
gorgegous. I have purchase a few of the other rose chart after seeing
the models stitched because I couldn't help myself. I have not had a
chance to stitch them yet or really study the charts so my question is
for either Marc or...

Cats & Ironing Boards do NOT Mix ;) by
Magic Mood Jeep©
OK, I have a finished cross stitch that I am getting ready to frame. I have
pressed it and mounted it. I left the ironing board out while the iron
cooled.
Left the room to get my cutting board for the mat.
Sit down to check email while in the 'office'.
Hear a loud crash-bang-rattle, followed...

those old bureau scarves by
val189
I had an inspiration and will try to execute. I'm going to cut squares
from the corners and try to make napkins. Just turn a hem and that's
it. They'll have the edging only on two sides, but I think they'll do,
if I fold and iron them on the diagonal.

Yet another use for floss by
Cheryl Isaak
I suppose it is surface work or perhaps appliqué, but I just finished using
floss to blanket stitch DD's Daisy (Girl Scouts) petals and center on. The
troop is using felt backed with iron on tape. I even matched each separate
color piece with the nearest shade of floss.
Wonder how many Mom's will...

cross stitch programs by
Lisa R
Ok, I don't know how long it's been since this topic has been
discussed.... I'm wondering how the various cross-stitch charting
programs rate these days. I'm not a professional and don't want to
pay professional prices, but would like to have the options for
specialty stitches. Any...

Floss Storage Quest... by
Louise Weiler
Hi all...I usually just lurk, but I'm on a quest (again). I *REALLY* like
using the Floss-Away bags for my projects. Like a lot a lot. BUT, I now
have a fairly good supply (probably some of about 2/3 of the DMC colors, not
to mention those non-DMC threads that came in various kits I've...
